Vascular Ultrasound Scans

Vascular Doppler ultrasonography is a painless and non-invasive imaging technique. A variety of acute and ongoing alterations in the vasculature can be found with vascular ultrasound including Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and Abdominal Aorta Aneurysm (AAA).

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a potentially life-threatening condition that occurs when a blood clot forms in one of the deep veins in the body, usually in the legs. DVT can lead to serious complications, such as pulmonary embolism, if not diagnosed and treated promptly. Ultrasound is a vital diagnostic tool used to identify and diagnose DVT. Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of the body’s internal structures. It is a non-invasive and painless procedure that does not expose the patient to ionizing radiation.
