Fertility / Follicle Tracking Ultrasound Scan
A fertility or follicle tracking ultrasound scan is a safe and non-invasive imaging tool used to monitor the uterus, ovaries, and ovarian follicles. This scan can help women and their clinicians better understand fertility timing and monitor follicle development during fertility treatments such as intrauterine insemination (IUI) or in-vitro fertilization (IVF).
During the scan, your clinician may also assess the endometrial lining and check for any pelvic abnormalities, such as fibroids or cysts, which could affect fertility. Ultrasound can also be used in the early stages of pregnancy to confirm the presence of a gestational sac and estimate gestational age, under guidance from your doctor.

How is this scan performed?

The procedure involves a small, lubricated ultrasound probe gently inserted into the vagina. Most patients experience minimal discomfort. The scan helps track follicle development, measure the endometrial lining, and assess the reproductive organs.
