Hip Ultrasound Scan
At Ultramsono, we provide comprehensive hip ultrasound scans for both adults and infants, using high-resolution imaging to assess the hip joint, surrounding soft tissues, and related structures. Ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive, and dynamic imaging technique that enables accurate evaluation of various hip pathologies without the use of radiation.

In adults, hip ultrasound is often recommended for investigating pain, swelling, or restricted movement caused by bursitis, tendinitis, arthritis, trauma, or sport-related injuries. It helps detect inflammation, effusions, and soft tissue abnormalities affecting the joint.
In infants (neonates), ultrasound is the preferred method for screening developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) — a condition that, if left untreated, may lead to long-term mobility issues. Early diagnosis through ultrasound allows for timely management and helps prevent future complications.
Our experienced clinicians at Ultramsono perform hip and thigh ultrasound scans with precision and care, ensuring a comfortable experience and accurate results for every patient.

What are the preparations for a Hip Scan?
No special preparation is required for this scan. However, wear loose and comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the hip area. For infant hip scans, parents or caregivers may be asked to remove clothing or nappies covering the hip area to ensure clear imaging. The procedure is gentle and typically performed while the baby is lying on their back. Parents are encouraged to remain present for reassurance and comfort.
